Moonland helps launch and lead the Airtable Nonprofit Community
Nonprofit teams are some of the most resourceful Airtable builders out there. They're also often building alone: one operations lead, one overloaded spreadsheet and a lot of late evenings figuring things out.
That's why, in May 2026, Moonland helped launch the Airtable NPO Builder Crew: a community for nonprofit teams building smarter systems for grants, programs and impact. Our cofounder Pello Múgica Gonzalez leads the community as Crew Captain for EMEA, together with Cherry Yang of Claribase for AMER.
Why a community for nonprofit builders
Nonprofits face challenges most software communities never talk about. Donor accountability. Reporting to several funders, each with their own format. Programs spread across countries. Small teams carrying big responsibility.
The good news: many organizations have already solved parts of these problems. The community exists so that knowledge doesn't stay locked inside one organization. Members learn from each other, see real systems being built and leave every session with something they can use the next day.
For Moonland, this fits naturally with why we exist. We work exclusively with organizations committed to making a positive change, and we believe they deserve systems as strong as their mission. Sharing what we've learned openly is part of that.
Who leads the community
The community is led by two Airtable partners with a focus on impact:

Pello brings a background in humanitarian work and years of building Airtable systems for NGOs, foundations and social enterprises. As Crew Captain, he helps shape the program and leads sessions himself.
What the sessions look like
The community brings nonprofit teams together in regular sessions, online and in person. Every session focuses on one real challenge and shows, step by step, how to solve it in Airtable.
The response was clear from the very start: more than 800 people from the nonprofit sector registered for the launch session, a live build of a complete fundraising base covering donor tracking, gift management, campaigns and AI supported donor research.
Other sessions dive into challenges like these:
Donor reports you're actually proud of. Pello led a session on a challenge he knows firsthand. The problem with donor reporting is rarely a lack of data. The data usually exists, but it's scattered across systems, formats and people. By the time reporting season arrives, most of the energy goes into finding, cleaning and reconciling information rather than telling the story of your impact. The session shows how to connect impact data, stories and financial information, so reporting becomes a natural outcome of the work instead of a quarterly scramble.
An impact measurement system your team actually uses. Your Theory of Change shouldn't only live in a slide deck. This session covers how to translate it into a practical measurement framework, connecting outcomes, outputs, indicators, activities, targets and evidence in one coherent structure. It brings quantitative data and qualitative evidence together across programs and reporting periods, and explores where AI can support qualitative analysis, learning and impact reporting.
Building together, in person
Online sessions are great. Building together in the same room is even better. Alongside the community sessions, Moonland organizes offline events for organizations committed to positive change.
Think of NGO of the Future, our event at Plein Publiek in Brussels on how NGOs can build stronger operations for the years ahead. Or hackathons like the one with 360 Degrees Consultancy, where students team up with NGOs to build the systems those organizations need, and the one with AmpliFY in Romania, supporting a community of around 900 NGOs to build on Airtable.
How to join
The community is open to anyone working in or with nonprofits, whether you've built dozens of Airtable bases or are still wondering whether your donor spreadsheet counts as a database. (It doesn't. But you're in good company.)
